OC October  (2016 Edition) Day 21 – Tala Reyes, Ultimate Therapist

I am shameless and I don’t care. I also don’t know what homebody means. I stand by the fact that a certain therapist deserved better and considering the franchise has used their own talents again at least once (maybe two), I feel like I can be allowed this. …And it’s not like with the new series I haven’t done that already albeit without knowing the future. Now I’m doing it purposely but this is the last time I do this likely.

Regardless, I like what I have for her so far! I didn’t expect her design to focus on green but guess that’s how it is.  She’s very good with hearing and being able to tell how someone feels based on what their voice sounds like. With help and practice, she’s managed to practice things related with therapy. She’s very good at speaking with people.

…Also remember when I had the chance to colour more of these in? Yeah… Good times.

in all seriousness I love Kaede and as much as I have a little bit of bitterness that there’s a canon pianist (though it won’t stop me from making it Silvia’s talent), I’m happy to hear she has the pianist talent. It also gave me an idea for something to draw! Silvia actually looks kinda nice with Kaede’s clothes. I love Kaede’s design for being simplistic yet effective. Although drawing that skirt sucks. I can also play piano and I know about note theory but drawing notes like that wasn’t fun. You can tell when I gave up. Rest of the outfit was fine though.

when I had no internet for a while, this is the only thing of interest I did. Colouring a doodle I drew because I was thinking about this gif and how I haven’t drawn Maxim in one of Brendon Urie’s suits in the music videos in a while. My only reason is because everything else required me to look up a reference. Which required internet. Also my drawing computer now is kinda stagnant.

Regardless, I had fun with this. This is happiest I’ve drawn Maxim I think.

100 Themes Challenge – 36. Precious Treasure

Whoo boy do I have a lot to say about this. And I don’t think I want to put it all in one description since it is quite long. These things include some things based around characters (especially if you’ve seen how I’ve drawn Webber’s necklace before) and overall thoughts about this picture including process.

TLDR; For a first attempt at this type of picture it’s decent. I don’t hate this and I’m overall happy with how this came out. Thus far, it’s probably the best 100 Themes Challenge related picture I’ve drawn. I chose Webber for the picture because his charm necklace is a precious treasure for him since it’s something his dad gave him (whose passed since then).

And thanks to this, I know what my next project will be. Regardless of how many more changes I make or how much time it takes, I will be sure to finish them.

For some reason, drawing him with this expression has made me think my headcanon of him having Pit’s voice is more accurate. No idea why but this was fun and I like this palette!

I should draw Webber more. He’s one of the first OCs I made at least in terms of my NLDR OCs and I’ve been a bit neglectful of him. Though in the past week or two weeks I’ve been neglectful of all of them.

100 Themes Challenge – 81. Pen and Paper

So one thing I know I should do is flesh out more about my characters. Considering how long I’ve had my NLDR OCs, these are the ones who I should reveal more of. For Thomas, he likes traditional writing a lot but mostly for his free time with poetry, scripts or stories (usually short stories). However, he does use technology like a phone and he owns a computer so papers and games. Though he gets asked this a lot, especially by his step-mom.

And if you notice that the words on the paper look familiar, it’s because I think these lyrics work with his character, I think Thomas would like this band, and I don’t have enough skills with poetry to write my own poems. Though… I started getting tired of writing with my mouse and just wrote a bunch of random stuff.

Anyways I’m really happy with how this turned out! Especially when compared to the sketch.

100 Themes Challenge – 31. Flowers

It’s been a while since I posted another one of these but after several internal conflicts on trying to come up with something else and getting past some computer problems, I finally came up with something! And you know, having a character whose a flower fortune teller and liking flowers myself, this seemed like a very good idea.

So for flowers, I decided to draw Ollie doing some flower fortune telling. I added Richard too since it seemed empty without someone else. Since they’re cousins, they hang out whenever they get a chance.

I mostly drew this for practice and originally I was going to leave it as a doodle but I decided to fully colour it in and draw it with my mouse instead. I’ve been thinking a lot about relationships between my characters especially with my main OCs and how I’ve changed things with them. And for this, I mostly drew this when thinking about that one line from the Stakes series in Adventure Time.

… I’ll be perfectly honest I could imagine Brandon saying this. I have also been thinking a lot about his relationship with Pablo, mostly with the past. When I imagine the relationship between Tiff, Taylor, Benten, Pablo, Brandon and Drake, it’s all platonic between them. Though I have thought about other things past platonic relationships between them. Though I will say, none of them will get together. Especially not with Drake.

I came to the realization that if I wanted to make a steampunk themed outfit and use Maxim, then I could’ve used some tips from Brendon Urie in the Ballad of Mona Lisa music video.

Anyways, I haven’t had a chance to draw and colour in an akumatized version of one of my OCs yet and I do want to get some of them. … Along with eventually drawing my Ladybug and Chat Noir in this AU. So here’s Dr Marionette whose Maxim as an akumatized villain. This has gone through quite a few tweaks and honestly, I’m pretty damn happy about this final design.

I was going to format it a similar way to how I drew up my akumasona but I decided not to. Mostly because the full body picture I drew of Maxim in the AU with this sucked. So I decided not to use it. I don’t mind though since I already drew him in this AU. Not a full body picture but eh. Although if I end up making anymore of these (which I would like to since I have my ideas), they will be in the same format, information format (with an added category) and picture format, as the akumasona one.
