So I managed to finish this! At long last! Even though some of them still look a little bit awkward for me, I am surprised by how good they all look overall! It was fun making these even though some of them were pretty annoying to work on (especially the mounted units. I’m looking at you Wyvern Riders).

In case you didn’t see the preview I posted a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to do pixel/sprite edits of Awakening classes with my DR OCs with whatever Awakening classes I thought they would be. I wanted to make a full sheet since posting them individually would be too small but I will include single transparent versions underneath the cut.

This was fun to do and a part of me is tempted to try and make a full sprite sheet for someone even though I don’t know how to make gifs. I don’t know who (probably Lavinia because hers was the easiest). We’ll see though I have exams coming up soon so I’m glad to get this done now.

I drew this a while ago and wanted to added colour to it. Since I have little drive to draw anything new, I should post this now before I forget. One thing I have decided with the Miraculous AU with my characters is that there would be some changes in backstory compared to the main verse I use. One of the bigger things I decided is with Maxim. It involves basically changing certain events so he’s… happier.

As a result, I had to change up his design in a way. Mostly with the fact that his hair wouldn’t be dyed blonde. So yes, it’s confirmed, his original hair colour is black. I don’t have a preference since I think they both look good on him even though the style is different with both hairstyles. I’m actually changing the default designs for all of them for this AU because I need some of them to look more casual since some of them don’t look that casual (Hi Carsten).

He still has an interest in puppetry, that doesn’t change. One thing I’d like to add (since I can never seem to find a good time to bring it up) is that in this verse (and my main verse), he likes writing stories to perform for puppet shows. He mostly performs them at a local library for kids.

These past two days have been obsessing over a Miraculous AU I tried not to do but look at how successful I was on that haha.

… Anyways I find if I want to make this AU, I have been coming up with more casual designs for some of my OCs. This is Maxim. Have I ever mentioned he dyed his hair? Now you know. The reason he dyed his hair in how I usually draw him is for reasons that don’t apply to this verse.

I love this song. I absolutely adore it. I can’t quite explain why, it may not objectively be the best song on the album (I actually think Pity Party is my favourite) but man it’s still a great song. This idea has been in my mind for a while now actually, so now I’m finally getting to do it! And I may have already put some expectations on myself for this year… This is the most time I’ve spent with a background. It may also be the best background I’ve ever done. Those suites were annoying to do. I had to settle with my own way.

Still, I’m already impressed with this! It looks pretty good. Though give me a couple of months and we’ll see what I think of it then. For now, yeah I’m glad about this. Maybe next I’ll actually doodle some things to try and show more of my characters’ personalities for this story I’m now not sure if I’ll ever finish writing.

Death of a Bachelor is a pretty good song but from the ones released from the new album thus far, it’s my least favourite ONLY because I like all the others ones more. Though I will say, it has one of my favourite music videos because it just looks really nice. So I decided to draw Maxim in Brendon Urie’s main outfit of the music video again (the pose I used is from here) since yeah I think he can pull this off. And honestly, this can only work with imitating the black and white filter placed on it. Not as good but from comparing them, it’s close.

I have never used a black and white filter for a picture before so this is a first for me! Though in order to do this, I did colour it in first so if you want to see the coloured version, you can click here.

And with that, this will be my last fully coloured picture for 2015. I am working on two other things but they’re references/OC introductions. And this is a sort of practice to try and help me improve my art.

OC October Day 31 – Maxim Facilier

And a happy Halloween to you all! In order to wrap up OC October, I decided to draw my favourite of my OCs. Yeah, mulling over it a lot, I realized Maxim is likely my favourite from the OCs I’ve made in the past year. I can’t really explain why, I just like the work I’ve done with planning his characters. Like I said, he’s the reason I make puns now.

But I always see him as someone who listens to Panic! at the Disco and likes steampunk fashion. So let’s combine the both and draw him dressed like Brendon Urie in the Ballad of Mona Lisa music video. It is pretty snazzy wear! I just can’t portray it well enough because I couldn’t find a lot of pictures properly depicting the details.

But this was fun to do! I kinda want to do another sort of “one picture a month” thing for November as well. Just a thing I want to do on my own since I like this kind of “Do whatever you want” month challenges. Less boundaries that way but we’ll see. If I do, it’ll involve AUs. But yeah, hope you guys have a happy Halloween! Thanks for tolerating me up to this point!
