Hey who remembers this?
Since I’ve been wanting to work more on this, this is just among my list of redesigns to work/re-work on. Although I know what has priority… Still, when I saw this again, I thought it’d be great to redraw it to juts see how much my art hss improved. So here we are. First time I even thought of making Kaoru Shirogane and now it’s been revamped.
This was originally based off a Vine by Matt Post (which I can only find as a repost on YouTube).
Inktober 2017 – Day 29 (late)
I am slowly but surely working on the last three Inktober doodles I have. I’m sorry that they’re late. I was busy in the last few days trying to do things on my own and studying or a test. It has not been easy and especially not fun.
Anyways, here’s my OC Michi (remember them?) dressed as a kitsune. What a cute.
I’ve drawn the people that Akiyama lives with. Her older brother, Mitsuo Akiyama who wants to be an artist. He does quite a few commissions for people around town. And to practice drawing animals, their dog, a running ball of fluff they call Hitomi.
At the moment, looking through the things I’ve doodled throughout the week, there aren’t many things in particular I’d like to post. I mean I do have a set of doodles here with OC doodles… But I literally drew almost all of these yesterday evening. So it doesn’t feel fair. I’m still looking but for now, I’m posting these ones separately.
I’m happy with these. I’ve been working on changing up Akiyama and Koizumi’s designs a bit because they looked messy when I first drew and coloured them in. I don’t know if this makes them less interesting (particularly with Koizumi) but I like what I have so far. They have to adapt to how I’ve been drawing now so.
I also drew different outfits for them like casual wear. Although I didn’t know Michi’s was the hoodie of someone from DMMD. But they look pretty cute. I’ll change it to still be bunny-themed but at least it gives a general idea.

Meet Kaoru Shirogane
a character I only made to make that comic, a co-worker of Detective Akiyama’s. Her and Akiyama had a tendency of working together a lot during cases and then Akiyama decided to get an assistant.Working with Detective Akiyama has its perks. It also has its downsides. You’re in for a ride Michi.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t thinking about mochi being Detective Akiyama’s favourite food.
And how she may or may not have chosen to see what Michi has to offer because their name is close to “mochi”,
I haven’t drawn much with that animanay I’ve been thinking of though I’ve been thinking about it a lot. So have a quick doodle of Detective Akiyama and her assistant Michi.
… Man I really need to get better at anatomy. One step at a time Tori.
So one thing I’ve been thinking of is an anime series that I made up for one of my DR OCs to obsess over. Then I decided that I wanted to try and make up my own anime of a sort. Though I can’t imitate the anime style! Even though people tell me my draws are more anime like. But these two would be two of the main characters.
The top is Sora Akiyama whose also known as Detective Akiyama. She’s one of the most well-known detectives in the town of whatever Japan place they live in (I don’t know I’m not thinking that far yet).
The other one is named Mishi Koizumi whose recently become her assistant. Koizumi has been helping out with the investigations now. They’re still in school and Akiyama is curious about their life.
That’s the extent of what I have for now. I’m also hoping Mishi doesn’t resemble Naegi from Dangan Ronpa too much.
