For my next redesign reference, we have the Ultimate Confectioner, Candace Willow!

Colouring in a reference for her was something that I wanted to do for a while but never really got to properly colouring it in.  I’ve certainly drawn her design (in doodles and this year’s Inktober) but never really sat down and coloured it in because I kept getting side-tracked.  Although I’m happy to finally get her design drawn and coloured in.  Some may also remember that I used to call her the “Ultimate Candy Maker” but after looking up more terms and seeing Ruruka, I came to the realization that “Confectioner” is the correct term and kinda rolls off the tongue better. So it’s been repurposed to that. I don’t really care if canon has already used that talent especially since this was a change in hindsight so I couldn’t have really known.

In the end, her case is like Silvia’s. She has a talent that ended up being canon later (all my DR OCs I’ve been tagging as “NLDR OCs” were made in 2014 if you’re curious about an idea of how long I’ve been working on them)

Inktober 2018 – Day 29 (late) and 30

So here are the two Inktobers I’ve done yesterday and today respectively! I decided to draw my DR OCs for “Double” (and a look at one of the redesigns I’m thinking of with Setsuko) and some Mystery Skulls for “Jolt”! Hey, Hellbent was released this month and it was good timing. I just had to draw something for it.

Although I wanted to be a reference post-events shown in Ghost, this is going to have to be before because… well… I forgot to make Arthur’s left arm mechanical.

Whoops.

Inktober 2018 – Day 10 (Flowing), Day 11 (Cruel)

I ended up not posting my Inktober picture for yesterday because I got a bad headache and needed to sleep it off. Couldn’t work past it so I just slept. As a result, have a two in one for today!

When I imagined “Flowing”, my first thought was the idea of fabric like a dress of some sort. I thought it’d be a cute idea after all and I’d say it was. Or at least one that would be pretty and Silvia was the best model for it. …Except while sketching it, I wasn’t sure if I was drawing a flowing dress right so I asked @thelegochicken to help. Thanks Keith!

And for “Cruel”, it was a different thought process. I wanted to go with something a little gorier but I have limited skill in inking with Inktober and the ideas I had were a higher caliber. So I wanted something that conveyed it but wouldn’t be difficult to ink. What did I decide on? Dismembering a puppet. Perfect. Although I don’t get to draw Maxim frowning a lot so that’s a bonus!

Inktober 2018 – Day 8 (Star)

I updated my Amino app and it’s not working now so I’m sad. Although I still have this done and at least I can upload it onto tumblr. So here’s what I’ve done with “Star”. I wanted to try and colour in this sky too but uhhh… it didn’t work out too great and I was hating how it looked.

So a more background like picture will do.

Inktober 2018 – Day 7 (Exhausted)

I was going to go with something a bit more complex but the sketch kept frustrating me and I was tired from doing work today so I settled on something simpler. I mean, when I think “Exhausted”, the most obvious thing I think about is Carsten and his insomnia.

I should draw him more and post them more. Maybe he’ll be my… uhhh… fourth in queue for redraw references to finish drawing.

Inktober 2018 – Day 3 (Roasted)

Back at it again with my Danganronpa OCs.

This one was harder to think of since all I knew for the theme is that I wanted to use fire. How though was the bigger question for me. And trying to draw this when you’ve been busy and lacking energy was an even worse idea. Although I’m still somewhat glad. Little bit of a downgrade from my other two drawings but eh. They can’t all be winners as long as I get practice and have some fun with it.

Imagine this as like… Webber’s nightmare or something. Fire near his home? Not fun.

Miscellaneous DR OC doodles of me basically trying to really make some sort of reference. Or get a feel for designs.

Some of them are familiar. …Two of them are familiar. The others are ones I haven’t shown before. One of these doodles is in the process of being coloured in although I also have two others on the back burner. Still, it’ll be fun to colour in once I finish the line art.

This reference took me a while to finish because I would start and then want to work on something else. Not only that, but I had a long time of putting off colouring in the shoes for some reason. I knew what I wanted yet I couldn’t exactly put it and the time when I worked the most on it… I worked on fixing up the colour scheme with the design to add more green and still didn’t work on the shoes until I finally sat down and worked on them two days later (thanks to Keith/ @thelegochicken / @chartreuseeffigy for the colour help).

I’m pretty glad about the changes I’ve done to his design. From the scarf to adding the glasses to cleaning up his hair a bit, even adding more green to his overall colour palette and lifting up some of the darker colours in his design, it’s good. I like it a lot more. And what a change from his old design…

But it’s done now so I can’t complain. So here’s a character ref for another one of my NLDR OCs. As per usual, there’s information under the cut.
